About Me

Hello and welcome! My name is Bailey, I’m 33 and I’m the publisher of The Obsessed Reader.

I was born in Nebraska, and when I was twelve we moved to small-town Iowa, where we’ve been living ever since. After high school I studied at the University of Iowa in Iowa City. January 2011 I studied abroad at Lancaster University in Lancaster, England, where I met lots of amazing people and learned a ton about writing. I graduated from Iowa in June 2011 with a degree in English and creative writing. I wrote feature articles for a year for the local newspaper the Daily Iowegian. For about five years I was a staff reporter for the Creston News Advertiser, before getting my EMT license and putting it to good use. Now, I work as a paramedic at MercyOne Centerville, and I’m a volunteer firefighter and volunteer secretary for Centerville Fire Department.

As you can tell, I have a passion for literature and writing, and want to share that passion through this website. I took a long break from blogging, but now I’m back and so ready to review and read more!
